Welcome to Your Naples Update
As we settle into the beautiful mid-October season, we are bringing you the latest headlines from around Collier County to help you prepare for your upcoming visit. From local land-use discussions to festive holiday planning, here is what you need to know for the week of October 12, 2026.
Golf and Development News
The landscape of local golf continues to be a hot topic in Collier County. According to recent reports from WINK News, county commissioners have been reviewing a significant proposal for a new 18-hole private golf course in East Naples. The project, located near Sabal Palm Road, is currently under consideration for zoning changes that would shift the area from residential development to a private golf facility with member cottages. This highlights the ongoing demand for premium golf experiences in our region.
What's On This Winter
It is never too early to start planning your holiday calendar in North Naples. The North Naples Church has announced two major community events to close out the year. On December 13, 2026, they will host the Naples Vocal 200, featuring a massive choir performance. This will be followed on December 20, 2026, by the Naples Instrumental 200, an annual tradition where a 200-member orchestra performs holiday music. These events are wonderful ways to experience the local community spirit during your stay.
Beaches and Weather
October in Naples remains a fantastic time to enjoy the outdoors. Current forecasts from AccuWeather indicate that daily high temperatures are ranging between 81° and 90°, with comfortable overnight lows between 68° and 75°. It is the perfect weather for hitting the beach or enjoying a round of golf at The Strand. For those visiting the Naples Botanical Garden, be sure to check out their latest exhibition, Ánima Botánica, which offers a unique perspective on the natural world through July 2028.
